Outdoor Adventures

There is plenty to do in the historic town of Potomac.  We have gathered a list of our special places to visit.

Potomac Library

The Potomac Library is surrounded by award-winning gardens and is situated in the heart of the Village. Outdoor benches and tables provide a serene view and a quiet place to savor the treasure of reading.   A welcoming atmosphere and knowledgeable staff at the library invigorates informational frills. Potomac Seniors Village is working with the library to provide easier access for our residents to check-out books from our computers.

Please visit www.montgomerycountymd.gov/Apps/Libraries/branchinfo/pt.asp for more information.

Great Falls Park

A three-minute drive from our community provides our residents access to the most visited attraction – Great Falls Park. George Washington envisioned the Potomac River to be accessible through the Patowmack Canal to encourage transportation and to draw people west of the Allegheny Mountains to the Eastern shore. Besides its historical significance, the park offers trails and breath-taking views of the Potomac River. To explore the history and nature of this beautiful 800-acre park only 5 miles from our community, please visit www.nps.gov/grfa/index.htm

Avenel TPC Golf Course

Home of the PGA Tournament, this famous golf course offers an award-winning portfolio of private TPC clubs, and provides an array of privileges and services. Avenel Golf Club provides an elegant lounge with rich furnishings and an upscale dining room. The TPC Golf Course is located 3 miles from the community.  Please visit www.tpcpotomac.com
